Falmouth 258-7 (20pts) beat Callington 214 (8pts) by 44 runs

Scott Kellow and Harry Roberts starred for Falmouth as they beat Callington by 44 runs in their Premier Division match at the Hine Downing Oval on Saturday.

The pair scored 207 runs between them as their side reached 258-7, with Callington falling short in their reply as Falmouth moved up to fifth in the table.

Falmouth won the toss and decided to bat first, but struggled early on with the premature departures of openers Richard Kellow (1) and Grant Stone (4). Kellow was run out by Charlie Coates while Stone was bowled by James Boundy.

But Roberts and Scott Kellow then stepped in and never looked back, with Roberts reaching 81 before he was also run out,. this time by Alex Mortimore.

Kellow continued even after Stefan Churcher (5) and Jamie Stephens (11) had fallen before him, but eventually exited after scoring 126.

Both Kellow and Churcher were bowled by James Shorten, who also took Liam Hoban (5) to record figures of 3-35.

Opener Aidan Libby led Callington's reply, scoring 46 runs before being lbw off Stephens' delivery.

The wickets were shared nicely around Stephens, Stone and Scott and Richard Kellow, with each of the four claiming two Callington batsmen.

Joe White was the only visiting batsman to escape the quartet. He was run out by Sean Hooper after top-scoring with 50 runs.

White's half-century gave his side hope, as did Mortimore's 26, but it was the hosts who were celebrating as they eventually bowled their opponents out for 214.
