The first League match may be just under three months away, but Penryn RFC have made three new signings ahead of the new campaign, writes Ben Gilby.

A very exciting young prospect, Dan Duval is a scrum-half and utility back, that has had county age group honours and is really looking to push forward with his rugby now.

Danny Richards has represented the RAF at several levels, most notably he is a regular feature in the RAF Spitfires Elite 7's team.

Finally, Nick Slaney has this season represented the Senior XV of the RAF and will undoubtedly be looking to cement his position in that squad again next season.

Nick is an elusive runner and will add some real pace out wide on the wing. They are all welcomed by Dave Levick the Head of Rugby.

Head coach Ian Morgan said: "I am delighted to bring Justin on board this season to oversee the forwards and take charge of certain aspects of our game.

"We have known each other a long time and I have a lot of respect for the guy, not just as a coach but as a person too.

"We are still hoping to have some input from Toby Freeman too, but his commitment to Cornish Pirates is huge and we really appreciate everything he gave the club last season and it would be great to see him around this season too."

"The first three signings have been excellent, all of them will add competition for places and I am excited to see what they can do during pre-season.

"They are very talented lads and I am sure they are going to fit into the Borough way very well indeed.

"Next week we will be in a position to announce our final two or three signings and then we are ready to go. "
