Camborne 180-9 (6pts) lost to Falmouth 183-4 (19pts) by six wickets

Falmouth continued their inconsistent Premier Division campaign with a six-wicket win at bottom side Camborne on Saturday.

Falmouth have now won three and lost three of their last six league matches.

Camborne won the toss and chose to bat, but lost Martin Jenkin (4) early on when he was caught by Jack Richards.

Simon Hosking (3) followed soon after as Camborne reached 9-2, before Daniel Hocking (18), Jordan Harvey (8) and Martin Woolcock (9) all departed to leave the hosts on 49-5.

However Liam Weeks and Sam Pooley stepped in and scored 52 runs apiece before both being struck out off Oliver Paull’s deliveries. Weeks reached his total in 82 balls, with Pooley managing it in seven fewer balls.

Their hauls were crucial as their lower order began to fall as swiftly as their top order did, before reaching 180-9 at the end of their innings.

Falmouth’s response began well with openers Sean Hooper and Grant Stone reaching 53 before Hooper (13) was caught by Harvey.

Stone batted on while Jenkin bowled Harry Roberts for a duck off four balls and Scott Kellow (6) was caught by Nigel Endean.

Stone eventually racked up 74 runs off 79 balls before he also fell victim to Endean, but by that time Stefan Churcher had scored a fine 52 alongside him, with Churcher adding seven more runs before Falmouth reached their target.
