Falmouth Docks Table Tennis Club enjoyed a visit from England international player Matt Ware last weekend.

Ware, currently ranked 15th in the country, came to the club's Dracaena Centre base to put on a special two-day training camp for the club's members.

Ware said: "I'd done this camp before last year and I know Dennis and Jeremy [Williams] very well and I came down and loved it last time, and I thought I'd come down again this time and give my expertise to the guys that are training here.

"We've been working on lots of different things, we've been working on movement, table tennis specific movement, and serve and receive, plus having a bit of fun as well, we're doing a World Cup, in a Davis Cup-style system so a two-man team.

"We've been working on lots of different things and I think they've all enjoyed it, and hopefully improving most importantly."

Ware also heaped plenty of praise on the ability of the members as well as the club itself, in particular the facilities that the club enjoys.

"It's brilliant, really really good," he said. "I think they're lucky to have such great funding and they've got amazing facilities and 13 or 14 tables, they can only get stronger and stronger as a club.

"There's some good players, some nice talent down here. It's a nice, humble club and they were all really welcoming and they've got a lot of talent coming through so I think if they keep training and they keep finding good sparring partners then they can definitely improve and get stronger."
