St Day held onto top spot in the Combination League with a 6-0 win at bottom side Redruth United on Saturday.

Dan Richards was the star of the show for the visitors, scoring four goals to take his season total to an impressive eight in seven games.

Louis Matthews and Adam Stevens scored St Day's other two goals.

They are closely followed by defending champions Perranporth who won 2-1 at Hayle in a clash between two sides who are expected to challenge at the top end come May.

Liam Mooney scored for Hayle but Jakob Springall and Steve Brewer gave Perranporth - who have only dropped two points so far - their fifth win of the season.

Mullion won their third game in a row on Saturday, with this one perhaps the most impressive of the lot as they beat relegated Illogan RBL 3-2.

Lee Cattran scored twice with Tom Bryant bagging the other, while Anton Oliver scored both of Illogan’s goals.

Perranwell shrugged off two successive defeats – with one of those at Mullion – by beating St Ives Town 2-1, with Matthew Lane and Lachlan Brace scoring for the hosts. Ross Duncan replied for Town.

Dylan Doyle and Joe Paterson scored the Airmen’s goals while Tom Jones scored twice for the home side.

Lizard Argyle suffered their second defeat of the season, going down 1-0 at Pendeen Rovers.

Jack Ralph’s strike decided the game but Argyle still remain inside the top six in the division.

Porthleven’s difficult start continued with a 5-2 defeat at home to St Agnes. Terry Campbell scored a hat-trick with Curtis Pay and Charlie Kemp also netting for the visitors, while Jack Price scored both consolations for Port.

Falmouth Town’s 100% start ended at Underlane, with hosts Wendron United holding Town to a 2-2 draw. Jack Noy and William Paul scored for the hosts.

St Just's match with Helston Athletic and West Cornwall's game with Penryn Athletic were both postponed due to a lack of referees available.
