Porthleven 3, Dobwalls 1

MATT Drummond scored twice as Porthleven beat Dobwalls to extend their 100% start to the SWPL Division 1 West season on Saturday.

Drummond bagged his tenth goal of the season to put the hosts in front before Tom Scott levelled after the break.

Drummond restored Port’s lead before Jordan Adlard put the result beyond doubt late on.

The first big chance arrived on eight minutes with Max Everard shooting wide after robbing a Dobwalls defender of the ball.

Dobwalls had their own opportunity on the half-hour mark as Billy Tedder-Hart failed to beat Port goalkeeper Jason Robertson, before Drummond came inches away from scoring at the other end moments later.

But Port took the lead with the final kick of the first half as Drummond lost his marker to head home from Rob Carey's cross.

The visitors drew level on the hour with Scott firing into the corner from a narrow angle.

But the hosts hit back six minutes later as Drummond headed in from Carey's free-kick to score his 11th goal in five games.

Jordan Adlard made sure of Port's fifth successive win by volleying hard and low into the corner from another Carey delivery with ten minutes to go.
