For the first time since 2019 the Cornwall’s Strongest Man/Woman competition ran by Kernow Gym is set to return to Heartlands, Pool on Saturday August 7.

The 2020 version of the competition was cancelled due to Covid-19.
Contestants are split into four categories: Novice, Intermediate, Opens (to crown Cornwall’s Strongest Man), Women’s (for only the second time in the events history, and the first under Kernow Gyms management).

There are 45 athletes over these categories, ten being in the women’s class.
The competitors will be scored on each event, and at the end of the competition the top scoring athlete in each class will win there category.

The event has had great support from Heartlands, who will be opening their café and snack truck/bar on the day. The competition has also had support and sponsorship from several local businesses, these are: The Dolphin Café Perranporth, Diamond Removals, Kernow Biltong, Spear Tactical Airsoft Camborne, setting up on the day MJH Sports Massage Camborne, APAR Security and Rightway Environmental LTD.

Kernow Gym’s aim for the event was to work with as many local companies as possible in order to help support local businesses and create partnerships that they can work with to grow the event year after year.
There will also be a first aider from the RNLI helping out on the day, and will be having collection buckets for charity at the event.
