THERE was a terrific turnout by the ladies at Budock Vean Golf Club who visited the club to celebrate the ladies' silver jubilee, writes Keith Rashleigh.

Twenty-five ladies with silver balloons and dressed with something silver teed off to celebrate the special occasion.

The competition was followed by a celebration lunch for over 30 ladies. A silver salver was presented to the club by captain Barbara Barlow which was won by Sue Rule with 22 points for the nine-hole competition. Second was Shirley Mildren and third Tricia Blater.

A very happy day was enjoyed by all.

Peter Dinham carded a superb net 60 to win the Budock Water Post Office sponsored June medal on Sunday. Runner up was David Gudzij with a splendid net 62 including the best gross of the day. 72. Third was veteran Bill Hannaford with a fine net 65.

New member Martin Rule acquitted himself well with a gross 76.

David Penrose holed his testing 195 yard tee shot at the par three second to make everyone happy in the bar. Remarkably, John Craig emulated David when he holed his tee shot on the same hole on Tuesday while playing in the "Beavers" (seniors) competition.
