Perranarworthal went down to a seven wicket defeat at Wadebridge in County Division 1.

The Perran innings centred on Julian Bose who made 35 and Carl Murphy's 27. Stuart Parkyn took four for 25 with Dave Dunnett and Paul Menhenick taking two apiece. Parkyn then hit 72 not out adding 91 for the second wicket with Menhenick. Murphy, Jack Brighouse and Michael Stuart took a wicket apiece.

Perranarworthal 140 (J Bose 35, C Murphy 27, extras 26; S Parkyn 4-25, D Dunnett 2-16, P Menhenick 2-24), Wadebridge 141-3 (S Parkyn 72no, P Menhenick 45). Wadebridge (20 points) beat Perranarworthal (four) by seven wickets.

Falmouth seconds remain clear leaders in division two after a hard earned win at Wendron.

Wendron put up a good fight before going down to a 45 run defeat. On electing to bat Falmouth lost Mark Johnson, bowled by Mike Newbury for 8. Richard Full with 51 and Justin Inglis with 23 got the total up to 76 before Anthony Harris struck with the first of his six wickets.

He got rid of Full and Inglis and followed with the middle order scalps of Kevin Miller, Liam Hoban and Andrew Varkar. Mark Mitchell picked up a couple of wickets for 49 runs as Falmouth were dismissed for 131 in the 37th over.

Wendron got off to a bad start with Mike Hoban bowling Brett Andrew without a run on the board. Mark Mitchell (12), Ryan Tresidder (14) and Anthony Harris (21) got the total to a promising 46 before the third wicket fell. It was the start of a dramatic collapse that saw six wickets fall for just four runs to virtually seal the game. Steve Williams hit out to make 26 off 31 balls but the end came at 86 all out in the 32nd over. Inglis had remarkable figures of 5-3-6-4.

Full, Hoban and Josh Symonds took two wickets each.

Falmouth have a local derby at home to St Gluvias on Saturday.

St Gluvias went down to a 90 run defeat at Rosudgeon. Mark Waters led the home innings making 127 that included three sixes and 17 fours. Matthew Julian took three for 46 and Chris Johnson two for 63.

St Gluvias lost their first six wickets for 59 in reply before Richard Bannister added some respectability with 60 aided by Neil Pearce with 20. Earlier Matthew Julian made 20.

Rosudgeon 253-6 (M Waters 127, C Jacka 33, T Boston 27, N Harvey 24; M Julian 3-46, C Johnson 2-63), St Gluvias 163 (R Bannister 60, M Julian 20; M Waters 2-22, T Boston 2-35). Rosudgeon (20 points) beat St Gluvias (seven) by 90 runs.

Constantine continued their winning ways in division four with a seven wicket win at Perranarworthal seconds. Darren Griffiths took six for 25.

Constantine play Perranporth seconds at home on Saturday while Perranarworthal visit Stithians.

On Saturday Stithians went down to a five wicket home defeat against Beacon seconds.

Stithians 135 (N Strick 25, H Williams 21; J Pook 4-21, S Emery 2-21, R Geach 2-37, D Williams 2-40), Beacon 138-5 (J Pook 33, M Lobb 31, A Gool 25, W McNamee 25no; G Furnival 3-22). Beacon (20 points) beat Stithians (five) by five wickets.

Falmouth thirds recorded a big win in division five as they now lead Praze by 39 points at the top of the table. Daniel Knowles made 98 not out and Mark Averiss 80 in the big total of 317 for 5.

Steve Nicholls took four for 41 as Porthleven were shot out for 94.

St Gluvias seconds suffered an eight wicket home defeat against Rosudgeon seconds.

St Gluvias 147 (K Quintrell 41, P Julian 21; K Jacka 5-26), Rosudgeon 150-2 (C Calfe 54no, S Trathen 52). Rosudgeon (20 points) beat St Gluvias (four) by eight wickets.

Wendron seconds were in fine form to win at Falmouth fourths by six wickets after being set 204 to win. Chris Instance made 60 and Kevin Williamson was 38 not out at the end.

Stithians seconds crashed to 45 all out at Mount Hawke and Porthtowan.

Stithians 45 (S Cloke 7-14, A Soloman 3-18), Mount Hawke 46-3 (B Grosvenor 2-16). Mount Hawke (19 points beat Stithians (two) by seven wickets.

Mawnan lost ground at the top of division seven when they lost to Chacewater by 20 runs.

Helston 185-8 (K Mathivanan 64, L Williams 32, P Morris 21; F Felton 2-28, M Gripper 2-12), Perranarworthal 174 (N Brenchley 76; M Williams 4-35, J Williams 3-38 ( Helston 19 points) beat Perranarworthal (eight) by 11 runs.

Npower Village Cup Perranarworthal are through to the last 16 of the npower village cup for the second successive year after winning in Devon against Feniton on Sunday.

Needing 161 Perran were in trouble at 52 for 5 before Malcolm Thomas with 57 not out and Gareth Davis with 40 added 85 for the sixth wicket. Carl Murphy was 15 not out when the winning runs came in the 33rd over.

Perran will now be at home to Welsh opposition (Carew or Ynystawe) on July 13.
