Truro City Chairman Kevin Heaney predicts that Salisbury City will the team to beat in the Zameretto Southern Premier Division next season. Salisbury finished 12th in the National Conference Premier League last season. It would have been fifth, but they had ten points deducted for going into administration and were demoted from the whole of the Conference league.

“You would bet on Salisbury being the big club to beat in our League this season,” said Kevin. “They are likely to be hellbent on climbing back up again just as fast as possible and it will be no surprise if they threaten to dominate in the same way Farnborough did last season.”

“There are going to be some really big clubs in our league this time round and it’s going to be incredibly tough at the top with only one team assured of automatic promotion. We must prepare ourselves right. If we’re fit, dedicated and passionate - if we give everything we’ve got - then we can be up there challenging for promotion, and I will be delighted with that.

“I’m not going to make any predictions. This league is very close to the next level in its standards. I have no doubt whatsoever that our squad is good enough to be competing at that next level - and would probably be achieving a mid-table position there. In the four cup games we played against Step 2 opponents last season, we were by no means out of our depth.”
