Penryn Athletic were rocked by the news this week that their Cornwall Under-18 midfielder Cody Cooke has agreed to join Truro City.

Cooke, who broke into the first team this season, has performed well this season for both club and county attracting the attention of those at Treyew Road.

He has scored seven goals in the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League division one west including a hat-trick against Mousehole.

Cooke, has joined Truro City, along with county under-18 team-mate James Ward from Newquay.

Chairman Kevin Heaney is hopeful both players will be able to progress into the first team.
