Falmouth were at home to Bournemouth on Saturday and were ready for a fast and furious day. The home team started well with super passing and close marking and all round good team spirit.

Bournemouth, however, were not giving Falmouth any space and few chances were created early on and the first half saw a goal less 35 minutes. The break that Falmouth needed came early in the second half. Midfielder Clare Hudson and winger Rachael Tatlow linked well on the right with Fee Rundle, making her first appearance for the team this season, making some good passes. The goal came when Hudson crossed the ball into the circle for Vic Rushton to sweep home confidently. Now at 1-0 Falmouth were gaining momentum and a second goal was created with determination from Han Royle and Dani Burnford who fed the ball to Hudson. A fine crack from the top of the penalty area saw the ball deflect off a Bournemouth player into the top corner. Bournemouth made a final surge towards Falmouth's defensive patch and managed to pull a goal back leaving the final score at 2-1. An overall good performance, with player of the match Amanda Wills having an outstanding game at right back, sees Falmouth just above the relegation zone with one league match to go.

Caradon 2 Falmouth 6

Falmouth travelled to Lux Park, Liskeard on Sunday for their county cup semi-final game against Caradon. Having had a tough league match on Saturday the visitors were rather jaded and slow to start. This proved crucial when the home team cracked the first of the short corners into the back of the net past keeper Grace Rudlin. Falmouth equalised within minutes as the midfield took more control and quick passing moves started to be made in attack.

Clare Hudson scored the goal with a confidently and powerfully struck penalty corner. However, still struggling at times and not producing many breaks Falmouth were still under pressure and it was another penalty corner that saw Caradon bag their second to go 2-1 up. With Falmouth now behind the determination to win was always there and Hudson soon scored her second to make it 2-2.

The visitors were now regrouping nicely and speedy winger Rachael Tatlow created numerous scoring opportunities for sister, Amy to sweep away, nicely grabbing her first goal after a six-week gap due to injury.

The Tatlows were now firing on all cylinders. Amy's second came as she swiftly dodged the goalie on a one to one encounter. By this time Vic Rushton was determined to add to the score by using her usual skilful manoeuvres and managed a fine strike to take Falmouth 5-2 up.

The defence were solid at the back with Kat and Terri Barbery-Redd making some great tackles and Meg Cookson forever annoying the home attack. The final goal came from a perfect pass onto the open stick of Clare Hudson who got her hat trick and player of the match recognition for the day.

Torbay 4 Falmouth II 0

Falmouth made the trip to Torbay to play the Trelawney 1 league leaders. The visitors dominated the first 10 minutes of the game with all of the attack and opportunities being narrowly missed from both Katrina Thomas and Laura Percy. Falmouth also had two penalty corners that they failed to convert. Although the defence worked hard two scrappy goals were put away by Torbay to give them a 2-0 half time lead. In the second half Falmouth came out strongly, determined to turn the game around and take their chances. Despite tireless work from the defence and midfield and persistence from the Falmouth attack the goal they deserved was not forthcoming as the Torbay 'keeper played a great game to keep a clean sheet.
