Team Bath Buccaneers 1 Falmouth 1

Falmouth travelled to Bath to face the return leg of the league game which saw a 6-1 home loss.

The deadlock was broken when defender Terri Barbery-Redd smashed the ball through the Bath line from a penalty corner. A few minutes later, Barbery-Redd was involved in a goal mouth clearance at the other end which saw the ball ricochet off Rudlin and on to her hip. A flick was awarded but the Bath centre forward spurned the opportunity to draw her side level, putting the ball wide of the post.

The second half started with Bath on the offensive but the Falmouth defence remained solid and dealt with the onslaught. With Bath persevering and Falmouth unable to clear their lines, a soft goal was conceded after a deflected cross was rolled in.

Debutants Hannah Whear and Kirsty Scales played up to the league level and fully deserved their joint player-of-the-match award. Winger Rachael Tatlow had a chance to take the points during the last remaining minutes of the game, but was foiled by a last-ditch save from the Bath keeper.

On Sunday at 3pm Falmouth face a newly promoted Newquay in the final of the County Cup at Penzance.

Falmouth II 5 Torbay 2

Falmouth faced the Trelawney League leaders in this rearranged match at Penryn College. Falmouth took an early lead as Amy Tatlow scored with a powerful shot from the edge of the circle. As Falmouth moved the ball around well they went further ahead as Tatlow scored from close range and Laura Percy put the final touch on a cross from Katrina Thomas. Torbay then pulled two goals back which made Falmouth step up a gear to take advantage of their possession. Tatlow added to her goal tally, scoring two to bring her total for the day to four. Falmouth conceded a penalty flick but this was impressively saved by player-of-the-match, June Moore.
