Truro City have made one of the first big name signings of the summer by capturing the signature of Penryn Athletic's Sean Johnston.

Jonhston played as a right-back for Athletic last season, captaining the side as they went onto to finish the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League (CSWPL) division one west campaign in fifth.

The summer however saw the departure of long terms managers Dale Band and Steve Jewell and it was expected within the club that there would be some changes in the playing squad as new boss Andy Parry prepares for the new season.

Truro City's peninsula league side finished the last division one west campaign fifth from bottom in the table, but recruited heavily towards the end of the season signing Penryn talented young midfielder Cody Cooke among others.

Johnston’s transfer to Truro was one of eleven to take place in the CSWPL in June with the other big move seeing last season's premier division top scorer Adam Carter join Bodmin from Torpoint.
