Falmouth 5 Bournemouth II 3

Falmouth faced Bournemouth at Penair School, for their sixth game of the season, following a two-week break in the fixtures.

It was clear that Falmouth weren’t entirely match fit and consequently Bournemouth scored their first goal after a strong attacking start.

Despite the sloppy start by Falmouth, some cleverly executed passes led to their first shot on goal by Clare Hudson. Despite the shot being cleared by the Bournemouth defence, the ball was picked up by Victoria Pryor, who scored the first Falmouth goal with a reverse stick shot.

Bournemouth fought back and scored their second goal, but in quick succession, an equaliser was scored by right winger Rachael Tatlow.

Falmouth began to settle into the game and their performance began to improve, leading to a second goal by player-of-the-match, Victoria Pryor, showing some impressive dribbling skills and a remarkable goal from a tight angle.

The fourth goal was controversial, occurring following a strike into the attacking area, which was deflected by Clare Hudson, before being hit by one of the Bournemouth player’s foot.

Falmouth went into the half-time break with a strong 4-2 lead and increased their advantage in the second half, with a strong strike and goal from Clare Hudson from the edge of the D. Bournemouth continued to work hard and their efforts paid off as the second half progressed, when an impressive third goal was scored from the Bournemouth centre forward. However, Falmouth continued to apply the pressure and the game ended with a 5-3 victory to Falmouth.
