Falmouth II travelled to Poltair School to face St Austell in a match neither team could afford to lose.

Falmouth went straight into attack with the best chance in the opening minutes falling to Clare Hudson, but her direct strike from the penalty corner was well saved by the St Austell keeper who was in great form throughout the match.

St Austell broke quickly and earned themselves a penalty corner and they managed to convert in the follow up play to take an early lead. This prompted Falmouth into greater urgency and they equalised a few minutes later when Fee Rundle had time to place her shot beyond the reach of the keeper after the initial strike had been saved.

St Austell regained the lead, scoring from a penalty flick after a Falmouth defender had stopped the ball on the line with her foot. Minutes before half time Clare Hudson managed to score the goal she had been threatening all match when she followed up her own penalty corner strike.

In the second half the game continued in much the same way as both teams had good attacking spells with both goalkeepers playing well as they were involved in a lot of the action. Falmouth took the lead for the first time in the game as player of the match, Clare Hudson beat several players and then shot from the edge of the circle into the corner of the goal. St Austell, often the quicker team to the ball, equalised ten minutes from time to make the final score 3-3.
