There was joy at last for Mullion as they won their first game of the season with a 31 run success at Hutchens Park in a bottom of the table clash.
The Mullion innings was built around Jim Pearson who made a crucial 86 with Jack Casley supporting with 21.
Ross Williams and Craig Osborne took three wickets each. Casley and Michael Cockings took three wickets each as the home side fell 32 runs short of victory.
Tom Ruhrmund and Keiran Bowden made 29 apiece and Jack Lugg 26.
Mullion have a chance to build on Saturday with the visit of Leedstown who have only won two games to date.
Mullion 163-9 (J Pearson 86, J Casley 21; R Williams 3-25, C Osborne 3-53), Paul 131 (T Ruhrmund 29, K Bowden 29, J Lugg 26; J Casley 3-14, M Cockings 3-2. Mullion (19 points) beat Paul (seven) by 31 runs.
