Following recent news that forwards Adam Clayton, Gary Johnson and Ben Prescott, plus backs Alex Cheesman, Junior Fatialofa and Kieran Hallett had signed for the Cornish Pirates, the signature of another new face has been confirmed.
The player concerned is an experienced performer in the shape of 6' 6" lock David Lyons who joins from Moseley.
Aged 27, it is expected that this latest recruit will provide a considerable physical presence. Born in Wolverhampton, he has also in the past made a number of appearances for Coventry, Worcester and Gloucester.
Commenting with reference to the latest addition to the Cornish Pirates squad, head coach Ian Davies said: "David is an ambitious player and during the past season we have been impressed with his work rate and physicality while playing for Moseley. We have no doubt he will add to the competition for places within the forwards which is no bad thing."
