Falmouth sailor Ben Ainslie has warned gold medal rival Jonas Hogh Christenen to watch out in Friday's racing, after the Dane angered the British sailor for making him to an 'unfair' penalty turn.

Three time Olympic gold medalist, Ainslie was left fuming after race eight of the series after Hogh Christensen and Netherlands sailor Pieter-Jan Postma said he had hit the bottom mark.

This meant Ainslie was forced to do a penalty turn mid-race, making him lose ground on his rivals. However, Ainslie battle back and managed to overtake Hogh Christensen on the final donward leg to claim third place in the race, and cuts the Dane's series lead to just three points.

Despite this though Ainslie was not happy and exchanged words with the Danish sailor after the finish.

Speaking after the race it was clear Ainslie was not happy with Postma or Christensen.

"Basically they teamed up on me," Ainslie told the BBC. "I was seriously unhappy with that, but they made a big mistake cause they made me angry, and they didn't want to make me angry."

Christensen hit back at Ainslie saying that if he didn't hit the mark , why did he do the penalty turn?

"I had no choice," replied Ainslie. "Because if it goes to a protest it is two against one, you are going to lose. It's bad, it is really bad. I'm not happy with it. It has happened to me a lot in the Olympics before. I guess I'm older and wiser enough to know not to fall for it, but those guys had better watch out."

Racing continues today (Friday) in the finn class at 12pm.
