Helston Hawks travelled to Probus last weekend to play their second league game of the season.

After an impressive opening day victory against Newquay last weekend, the Hawks started this fixture with confidence flowing through the team.
Helston dominated the early stages of the game with excellent possession, and created early chances to open the scoring.

The defence consisting of Dan Turner, Kyle Bradley, Jack Hannaford and Kyle Woodhouse stood strong at the back.

The midfield duo of Tyler Tonkin and Josh Richards were controlling the game from the centre of the pitch, supported by wingers James Williams and Henry Rowe who continued to create havoc in the wide areas.  The front pairing of Ben Turner and Mattie Buchan were causing problems for the Probus back line.

The Hawks opened the scoring ten minutesbefore half time, after striker Mattie Buchan had been brought down outside thebox. Up stood Tyler Tonkin who fired in a shot over the wall, to make the score 1-0. Probus also started to threaten in attack, forcing Goalkeeper Ross Atkinson to make an exceptional save, tipping a goal bound shot around the post.
The second half saw Helston make a number of substitutions,as on came Striker Max Caple, Midfielders George Wake, Jonty Wheatley and ZackBramwell.

Within minutes of the restart Jack Hannaford powered down the left,cut inside, and let fly with fantastic shot that flew into the top corner ofthe net. With the score now 2-0 to Helston, it was Probus that then repliedwith a quick goal of their own, 2-1. With the game now on a knife edge, it was Probus that now started pour on the pressure. Ross Atkinson in goal was forced into making two further top quality saves to keep Helston ahead in this game.

Another change saw Jamie Eddy added to fold, after a long layoff due to injury. The Hawks eventually maintained a strangle hold in this game, after two successivecorners from Henry Rowe were rewarded with goals for both Mattie Buchan and CaptainDan Turner.
