'Lack of training cost Truro against AFC Totton,' says Lee Hodges

Truro City boss Lee Hodges blamed a lack of training for their 3-2 defeat at home to AFC Totton in the FA Cup second qualifying round on Saturday.

City fell 2-0 behind to the Southern League premier division side, before a header from Stewart Yetton got them back into the match.

Truro had chances to equalised, but got caught on the break as Michael Gosney added a third goal for the visitors.

Full back Ben Williams added a late goal, but it came too late for a fightback.

Speaking about the match, Hodges, said: "Totton did well and I wish them every success in the Cup, but there's no doubt in my mind that if we had been training properly, twice a week as usual, we would have won comfortably.

"We looked exactly what we are at the moment - a team that is no longer able to train properly and doesn't know what is happening off the field.

"We had a 25-minute session against Totton when we dominated and should have scored.  We had some good chances but didn't take them and then mistakes by us cost us at the end of the day."
