Falmouth Town's Rob Wearne out of induced coma and set for operation

Falmouth Town's Rob Wearne is out of his induced coma after suffering a fractured skull against Elburton Villa on Saturday.

The injury happened when the young striker had an accidental clash of heads with Villa's keeper Simon May.

The player was taken to Truro's Royal Cornwall Hospital and then transferred to Derriford Hospital on Saturday night, where it was revealed he had a fragment of his skull pushing onto his brain.

The player was put into an induced coma by doctors. However, medical staff have told the family that they are positive he will make a full recovery.

The player is now out of his induced coma and set for an operation later today (Tuesday).

The Falmouth Town players, who do not have a scheduled game this weekend, are set to visit the player in hospital on Saturday.
