The Cornish Pirates can confirm that they have signed full-back/wing Jamie-John Kilmartin on a dual-registration agreement with Bath Rugby.
'JJ', aged 19, is an ex Millfield School pupil and a Bath Rugby Academy member, as is flanker Joe Buckle who is similarly dual-registered and has already made two appearances for the Pirates.
Besides having made regular appearances for Bath United in the Aviva 'A' league, JJ has also represented Bath Rugby in the J.P. Morgan Asset Management Rugby Sevens for the last two seasons, when the team made the finals two years running.
Another 19 years old player, signed by the Pirates to provide cover during Gavin Cattle's temporary absence through injury, is Truro-born scrum-half Rob Coote. A student at Exeter University, Coote has played for Exeter Chiefs in the 'A' league and has also represented them playing sevens.
Commenting with reference to the acquisition of their latest signings, Cornish Pirates head coach Ian Davies said:
"We have built a strong link with both Premiership clubs Bath and Exeter and the Pirates are benefiting in having these talented youngsters playing in the team this season."
