CORNISH Pirates' director of rugby Ian Davies said he is "excited" about taking on Worcester, London Scottish and Bristol in the next three games.

All of the Mennaye Men's opponents sit in the top four places of the Greene King IPA Championship are are favourites to be battling for promotion to the Aviva Premiership in May.

First up is a trip to Sixways Stadium tomorrow as the Pirates take on second placed Worcester.

Following last weekend's 30-12 victory over Jersey, four changes have been made to the Pirates' starting line-up with Laurence May, Stuart Townsend, Will Graulich and Joel Conlon coming in for Max Bodilly, Tom Kessell, Will Carrick Smith and Laurie McGlone.

Injuries have hit the side hard recently, but Davies said the wins over Christmas and New Year's has given the team a good platform to work from over the next month.

"We are pretty decimated with injuries in the front five," he said.

"Three players out for the season, three awaiting scan results, the players who could cover also out for a couple of weeks and then Charlie Davey rolls his ankle in training yesterday meaning a period on the sidelines for him too.

"The two victories over the festive period were vital for us as the remainder of the month will be a challenge, but it's an exciting challenge.

"It's a chance for us to measure progress and also for us to maybe put a marker down for the rest of the season."
