As previously intimated the Cornish Pirates have been quick to announce a second batch of re-signs following the recent news that full-back Rob Cook, wing Wes Davies, hooker Rob Elloway, scrum-half Tom Kessell, lock Laurie McGlone, and props Alan Paver and Ryan Storer had put pen to paper.

In alphabetical order the second seven players to re-sign are as follows:- Paul Andrew – having signed a contract for another two years, prop Paul’s development over the last three seasons has been staggering. Aged just 23, he has already amassed 77 appearances for the club.

Matt Evans – a late addition to this year’s squad, Matt’s work ethic and attitude has been impressive. The wing/full-back will be off to play for Canada in this summer’s internationals but will return to Cornwall ready for the 2012-2013 season.

Ben Maidment – enjoying a very promising first season in Cornwall, this double Cambridge 'Blue' has accepted a new two years contract with the Pirates. A strong, ball carrying back-rower, it is his determination to further improve that has most impressed the coaching staff.

Kyle Marriott – the former Plymouth Albion skipper has, as expected, built on his first season and is now a key member of the squad. He has captained the team on a number of occasions and it is his leadership qualities and 'no nonsense' performances that has secured him a new contract.

Chris Morgan – flanker Chris is the unsung 'hero' within the Pirates pack, who grafts hard for the good of the team week in week out. With his new contract he is looking forward to starting his fifth full season with the club.

Ian Nimmo – despite the best efforts of a number of Championship clubs, plus interest from the Premiership, Ian has committed to the Pirates again for 2012-13. Supporters will be delighted, as in his second season with the club 'Nims' has established himself as an integral part of the Pirates' forward effort.

Aaron Penberthy – this local Redruth boy has signed on for another two years, having shown his talents firstly in the British & Irish Cup and then in the latter part of Stage 1 of the Championship. A fly-half, it is expected that Aaron will 'kick on' still further and benefit from a well structured pre-season programme.
