Following their super RFU Championship first leg semi-final win against Bristol on Monday, with a big gathering still present the annual Pirates 'Awards' for the 2011-12 season were presented from the main grandstand.

Media Officer Phil Westren announced the names of the winners but firstly congratulated those players who had passed the 50 games mark for the club during the season, which qualifies them for a blazer badge. The players named were Rudi Brits, Phil Burgess, James Doherty, Kyle Marriott, Mike Myerscough, Ian Nimmo, Grant Pointer and Ryan Storer.

Three players who had passed the 100 games milestone were Rob Cook, Chris Morgan and Dave Ward, and each was presented with a club merit tie by Dicky Evans.

Dicky also presented a number of other awards to deserved recipients, as follows:- Community Player Of The Year - James Doherty.

Most Improved Player - Tom Kessell.

Monckton Cup For Achievement - Sam Hill.

Sportsman Of The Year - Phil Burgess.

Clubman Of The Year - the award was shared between Trevor Swann (a posthumous award accepted by his granddaughter Emily) and youth section coach Kevin Osborne.

Players' Player Of The Year - Carl Rimmer.

The Roger Pascoe Cup - Ian Nimmo.

Player Of The Year - Dave Ward.

The following is a list of other awards that were made:- 'The Edwin Bryant Trophy' - was presented by Carole Bryant to - Dave Ward.

Travelling Supporters 'Player Of The Year' - was presented by Sue & David Holmes to - Ian Nimmo.

The Stirling Cup For Commitment - was presented by Wendy Stirling to - Chris Morgan.

The President's Cup - was presented by Penzance & Newlyn RFC's President, Geoff Read, to - Gavin Cattle.

To conclude events, Dicky also congratulated the Pirates and the coaches on their win against Bristol and he also thanked those members of the squad who will be leaving the Pirates at the end of the season.
