TRURO CITY 3

ST ALBANS 7

Truro City manager Steve Massey's month from hell continued at Treyew Road on Saturday after the White Tigers were thumped 7-3 by St Albans.

Truro debutant Ben Watson struck twice for his new club, but it was City's defensive failings that proved their undoing as they slumped to their fourth defeat in as many games.

St Albans raced into a 3-0 lead inside the opening half hour, with Chris Watters and James Kaloczi putting them two goals to the good, before Darren Locke added a third.

Watson pulled a goal back after the break, and doubled his account with just over 20 minutes left to play.

But Lee Chappell's thundering drive from 25 yards out restored St Albans' two goal cushion and put paid to any hopes of a comeback.

Elliot Bailey scored a fifth for St Albans with ten minutes to play, before Cody Cooke nicked a consolation goal for City barely five minutes later.

Injury time goals from Chris Henry and John Frendo rubbed salt into City's wounds, and left manager Massey facing serious questions over both his judgement, and the quality of the squad he has assembled.

Truro face Poole Town at Treyew Road on Tuesday night in what must surely be a must-win game for Massey.
