FALMOUTH Golf Club is offering youngsters gripped by last week’s Open Championship at Hoylake the chance to give the sport a go.

Members at the club have a structured introduction for junior players including a starter course for groups of students at local schools and this is followed by golf tuition and playing on the course and at the Falmouth Pitch and Putt at Golden Bank.

A number of events are currently being played in the evenings on the main course with a Sunday junior academy is in the pipeline.

All young people with a possible interest in golf are welcome to visit the club with their parents or carers where a warm welcome awaits and an opportunity to make lifelong friends.

Players from the course are working hard with the community and have very attractive prices to encourage youngsters to take up golf with junior boys and girls fees for seven to 12-year-olds, inclusive of insurance and golf union fees, at less than £1 per week.

The fees are just over this sum for 13 to 17-year-olds. Reduced fees are also in place for youths of 18 –24 years old.
