PUPILS and staff at Landewednack School are celebrating after winning a football tournament.
Their team won the Small Schools Football League which was held on the astro turf pitch at Helston School with matches being played over several weeks.
The side went through the competition undefeated and Sue Wilson, their headteacher, said they had done the whole school proud.
Mrs Wilson said: “The boys have had a terrific footballing year.
“They have won both the leagues and recently the Norman Nichols football tournament in St Keverne this season.
“They also qualified to represent the Mullion cluster of schools at Penryn College in March of this year having won a tournament organised by Mullion Comprehensive school.
“I would like to thank the organisers of the Small Schools League and Darren Thirlaway, who manages and coaches the team each week.”
