MULLION’S Division Three West promotion hopes suffered another setback with a surprising nine wicket defeat at Barripper.

Having been put in they were shot out for just 88 with only Mathew Grose, scoring 42, and Stephen Green, with 21 runs, into double figures.

Paul Hollow took three for ten from seven overs and Adrian Rapson wrapped up proceedings with three for seven.

Barripper knocked off the runs for the loss of just one wicket in the 29th over.

Ben Edwards was undefeated on 41. Jim Pearson took the one wicket to fall of Paul Miners for 18.

Mullion are now 28 points adrift of second placed Botallack & St Levan with seven games to play.

In a bottom of the table clash, Leedstown got only their second win of the season to move level on points with Beacon.

Both clubs are 23 points from safety however. Leedstown made 223-8 and Beacon replied with 165-9 in their innings.

It wasn’t a good week for Praze. After losing the Andrew Cup Final they lost at home to Mount Hawke & Porthtowan two days later to dent their promotion push.

Trevellyan Greenall hit 68 after none of the top order could reach 20.

David Hilliard chipped in with 24 and Jevon Nolan made 18 to get the total to 207.

Opener Robert Askew hit 96 and Benje Bryant 44 as Mt Hawke won by three wickets with an over to spare.

Damian Lynes took three for 53.

Wendron lost at home to Hayle after the visitors hit 246 all out in 44 overs.

Lee Bennet made 67 before the last three wickets added a telling 89.

Jack Mitchell picked up four for 47 and Ryan Whitbread and Ryan Harris three each.

Tony Harris made 43, Sam Care 53 and Craig Owens 37 to give the home side an outside chance of winning.

But they could only reach 203-9 in their 48 overs.
