BOB Hartnell took home the Meneer Cup from Budock Vean Golf Club after a fine performance.

His net round of 61 made him the runaway winner, putting him four shots ahead of the field as Tony Grace finished runners-up on 65 in the 18 hole competition.

Chris Mason also carded 65, but Grace was given second place due his better showing on the back nine.

Carl Templeton scored the best gross round with 72.

A day earlier, the course’s men’s team were also winners in a County Small Clubs match as they defeated Clowance 5-2, making up for the senior’s 4.5-2.5 loss away at Cape Cornwall on Tuesday.

Ladies captain Jenny Wake showed her skills on the course on Wednesday as she picked up the Benney Medal Winners Cup with a net round of 69, beating Nina Hann by three shots while Sue Parsons came third with 74.

A Stableford match was also played by the women on the same day with Tricia Blatter winning this with a score of 38 points, with Moira Hooper coming second and Gill Sulley third.
