A SPECIAL moment happened on Sunday at Budock Vean Golf Club as one of the David Sulley Charity Cups was won by the wife of the man who the competition is in memory of.

Gill Sulley, the widow of David who was a well respected member of the club, picked up the best ladies pair title with her playing partner Jenny Wake.

The contest which uses the fourball better ball scoring format contest had two other prizes with the pairing of Dennis McQuillan and Dave Allen taking home the overall winners crown with their total of 45 points.

In the mixed pairs category, Denise Power and Granville Williamson came first with their score of 40.

After the action was finished, a cheque worth £200 was presented to Little Harbour Children’s Hospice.

Earlier in the week, the ladies playing in the Daily Mail Foursomes qualifying round with Glenys Bateson and Sue Parsons winning with 38.
