YOUTH tennis players took to the courts at Falmouth Tennis Club for the Junior Championships.

Children participated in eight different categories from Under 9s up to Under 16s with both singles and doubles tennis being played.

It proved to be a good day for Ashley Robinson as he took home both the U16 Boy’s singles title and the doubles crown with his brother Michael.

Ali Mantle also had double success collecting the U12 singles and the U14 doubles with George Law.

Rory Teale claimed the U14 singles title while there were victories for Louis Allies, Max Cooper and Jack Rogers in the U11, U10 and U9 singles respectively.

The club’s head coach Des O’Reilly said the tournament was a fantastic event for the club.

He said: “This is such an exciting time for the club.

“All of these juniors are playing so well with many competing throughout the county on a weekly basis.”

“These players are our future.”
