AFTER bagging wins in their first two games of the season, Falmouth’s ladies could not make it three on the trot on Saturday.
They hosted a fast moving Westberries team at Penryn College and it was the visitors who left the pitch happier with their 4-2 victory.
Falmouth found themselves 3-0 down inside the opening 15 minutes as a blistering pace was set by the team based in Bristol, which was backed up by a solid midfield line.
Amy Tatlow did provide some joy for the home side in the first half as she got on the scoresheet, finishing off a breakaway move after goalkeeper Hannah Bowman had saved a penalty taken by Westberries.
Early in the second half Falmouth had two decent chances to score, but saw both go wide, before their opponents added their fourth via a deflected shot at a penalty corner.
Tatlow grabbed another goal for Falmouth, but despite trying to pressurise their opposition could not breach them again.
