ATHLETES from Falmouth Road Runners took part in the Eden Half Marathon and recorded some brilliant results.

Held around the terrain of the Eden Project in St Austell, the testing course was taken on by club members and their men’s team winning the male competition.

Coming home first for them was Tom Carthy in a time of 1:26, placing him sixth overall, being closely followed behind by Ian Ferguson who finished three minutes later in ninth spot.

A top 20 finish was also recorded by Mark Littlejohn whose time of 1:33 was good enough for 19th while Paul Gwynne came 26th with a time of 1:35.

Completing the men’s team success were Andrew Laurie, 1:39.22, and Robin Watson, 1:39.52.

It also proved to be a good say for their ladies team as they came second in their competition.

First home for Falmouth’s was Karen Barnicoat who completed the 13.1 mile course in 1:55.

Caroline Cable was next in for them, clocking a time of two hours exactly.
