HOCKEY players from Helston Community College have won the chance to represent Cornwall at the regional championships.
The Under 16s girls team finished the County qualifying competition held at Richard Lander School in Truro as champions in what proved to be a tense contest.
They progressed from the group stage after beating Penrice, Liskeard, Poltair and the host team while also drawing with Truro, conceding no goals in the process.
In the semi finals, Helston defeated Penair 2-0 to reach the final.
This turned out to be a much tighter affair with the match being decided on penalties, but the college came through in the end.
A trip to Millfield School in Somerset now awaits them on November 12.
