A FINAL medal competition of the year was held for the gentlemen at Budock Vean on Sunday.

The contest, sponsored by Goldmartin Garage, saw five players score net totals of 67 despite the cold wind and heavy showers which battered the course.

Winning on countback was Tony Ramsden, whose gross score of 74 pushed him ahead of Mike O’Hara, Robert Johnson, Stephen Crouch and Chris Mason.

On Tuesday, the seniors played the third round of their Winter League with Tony Grimmer winning on countback after he and Dennis McQuillan scored 40 points.

The following day, the ladies played the Bring and Win Stableford, which saw each player brought a wrapped up gift.

After the competition is finished, the lady with the best score gets the first choice to select a present for themselves.

Getting her hands on the gifts first was Mo Salome who scored 36 points with Tricia Blatter coming second with 32, beating Jill Sully on countback.

Later in the week the new ladies captain for 2015 was selected with Nina Hann chosen with Sue Parsons as vice-captain.
