MEMBERS at Budock Vean Golf Club started 2015 off by seeing their new captain David Tippett do the annual drive-in to mark the start of his tenure.
With nearly half the club’s members present, a 12 hole Texas Scramble competition was held after the ceremony on Friday with the team of Geoff Mills, Charlie Averiss, David Townsend and Rod Butler winning with a net score of 35.
They got six birdies on the course which pushed them ahead of the quartet of David Gibbons, Tony Grace, Rob Gibson and Dennis McQuillan by three points.
Alison Samuel, David Stevens, Zack Cook and Bob Hartnell finished third on 38.4.
On Sunday, the club’s male players contested a non-qualifying extra medal match which was won by Rob Eccleston’s excellent round of 64.
