FALMOUTH’S female hockey players returned from Exeter defeated as ISCA won 4-3 in Saturday’s Premier Division clash.

With their first attack of the game, Falmouth took the lead through Amy Tatlow, after the ball was moved swiftly though the midfield.

The hosts quickly restored parity after getting a free hit on the edge of the D, but a wonderful solo effort from Rachael Tatlow put Falmouth back ahead.

Again, ISCA answered back to make it 2-2 before the visitor’s first goal scorer missing the chance to send Falmouth in at the break 3-2 up as her penalty flick was saved.

Away defenders were worked hard again in the second period with Megan Cookson, Viv Cobner and Kathryn Barbery-Redd all putting in solid tackles, while Hannah Bowman made several fine stops in goal.

Pressure was exerted on Falmouth’s midfield, with Amy Figgins, Clare Hudson, Nicola Hinton and Hanna Royle unable to supply their forwards with passes.

However, Hudson did put the visitors in front once more in the match, but goals from two penalty corners saw the home team claim the spoils.
