A CLOSE finish was had at Falmouth Golf Club on Saturday as the Kelsall Steele Investment Services Monthly Stableford was held, writes Keith Rashleigh.

By carding a birdie four at the final hole, Dave Walsh claimed the title on countback after getting a splendid haul of 44 points.

Despite a blob at the second, Walsh bounced back by carding birdies at the sixth, ninth, 13th and 18th.

This helped him just pip the in-form Sean Ramsey, who also played well to card birdies at the seventh, eighth, 11th and 14th, before a brace of double bogies at the 15th and 16th holes brought him down.

Ross Taylor took third place with 42, which included birdies at the 11th and 12th holes, while Andrew Bennett finished fourth on countback from Glenn Fortune after both scored 41.
