FALMOUTH Golf Club staged its latest round of the Winter League on Saturday in pleasant weather, writes Keith Rashleigh.
The combination of John Yates and Laurence Dolby gelled well and returned an excellent total of 46 Stableford points.
Their front nine of 24, including a four pointer at the stroke one seventh hole, set them on their way and a further 22 on the second half of the course, which was good enough to pip Mike Austin and Alan Miller.
The runners-up almost pulled it off with a sparkling back nine of 25, including four pointers at the 12th, 17th and 18th holes saw them come up one point short.
Third also with 45 points was Nick Morrison and Simon Hirst with solid respective nines of 22 and 23.
Fourth were Glenn Fortune and Ian Churcher with a score of 43.
This Saturday is the Monthly medal for both the gents and the juniors.
