SATURDAY was another brutal day on the golf course at Falmouth, writes Keith Rashleigh.
But still the “keano's” were out in force for the Monthly Medal sponsored by Kelsall Steele Investment Services Limited.
Larry Lynch led the way with a steady net 68 despite double bogeys at the seventh, 15th and 17th holes.
He held on to win by one stroke from Mike Sawden, who had a mixed bag with double bogeys at the fifth and seventh but came back with birdies at the 12th and 13th holes.
Third also with a 69 was Robert Tongue with a double bogey at the fourth and birdies at the 7th and 11th holes.
Completing a trio of 69's was Matt Higham who could well have won but for a triple and double bogeys at the 17th and 18th holes respectively.
Mark Carter once again showed his class by returning the best gross of the day of one under par 71 including birdies at the 11th, 12th and 17th holes.
