WET weather has forced the postponement of the Monthly Medal competition at Budock Vean until March 23.

Players were due to head out onto the course on Sunday, but the condition forced organisers to call the contest off with members enjoying a practice round instead.

After play was finished for the day, the club’s 2014 captains Paul Upperton and Jenny Wake presented a cheque worth £4,000 to Mary Murfin from Cornwall & Isles of Scilly for Children’s Hospice South West, their chosen charity of the year.

Senior club members were able to play their Winter League competition earlier in the week with Alan Mills putting together a very steady round of 40 points to win.

The following day, the ladies braved the forecasted rain to play a threesomes competition, with two scores on each hole counting towards the trios totals.

Barbara Craig, Alison Samuels and Mae Brown won on count back with 72 points from Tricia Blatter, Moira Hooper and Glenys Bateson.
