FALMOUTH Ladies’ second team smashed their way to the Trelawny League Two title on Saturday as they hammered Plymouth University 12-0.

With just a win required by the team to secure the championship, Falmouth emphatically made sure of success with some style on their trip over the Tamar.

They dominated the match from start to finish with their goalkeeper June Moore acting more as a spectator throughout proceedings.

Terri Barbery-Redd put the visitors in front after five minutes as she fired home from a penalty corner move before Paula Kolb doubled the lead soon after.

Any nerves were now settled and Falmouth were 6-0 up by half time with Barbery-Redd and Kolb adding to their own tallies while Emma Bragg and Alice Bowman also scoring.

Plymouth had a better period of play after the interval but still could not get close to goal.

Once Falmouth’s midfield had regained control, it allowed their team-mates in defence the chance to join the attack.

Kolb scored twice more before the final whistle while Amy Shaw got a brace of goals.

Bragg added another score to her earlier strike and Iona Middleton also got in on the act, helping the team celebrate their promotion to Trelawny One.
