DESPITE perfect conditions on the course, scoring proved to be hard work at Budock Vean for the Men's Monthly Medal on Sunday.

The event sponsored by Richard Burton Windows saw just three players card rounds lower than 70 with first place and the prize going to Rob Gibson.

His total of 66 was two better than new club member Piran Trezise, who did score the lowest gross tally of the day with 77, while third with 69 was Keith Whitbread.

In a Ladies' Stableford competition played for the Golf Foundation/Asprey Brooch, Nina Hann secured victory with her score of 35 points with Tricia Blatter in second place and Lesley Upperton third.

Entry fees for this were donated to the Golf Foundation Charity.

In the EWGA Medal contest, Mo Salome won with a net score of 67.

On Monday, the club's senior side lost their match at Newquay in gusty conditions.
