SKIPPERS of 29 boats took their vessels to the start line of the third Mylor Chandlery and Rigging Series race of the season on Friday, writes Stephen Nicholls.
Fresh 12 to 15 knot north to north west breezes were recorded on the water and after a general recall and re-setting was required, Classes E and U went toward the Turnaware mark whilst Q and H beat to Messack Channel.
With so many boats racing, the starts were closely contested with a couple having to return to the line.
General Khaos was first to finish in E but placed second overall on handicap, with Talitha being crowned the winner.
It was a similar case with the placings in U as Mary Boon got home first, but Wizard of Clee won on handicap.
Topsy secured her maiden victory in Q, much to the crew's delight onboard, while Ysella was the best performer among the ten Shrimpers after captain Brian Phipps made an excellent start.
