PLAYERS took to the course at Praa Sands Golf Club on Saturday to compete for the Haulfryn Cup.

The annual event, which is also the invitation day, saw the men playing in the morning before the ladies ventured out in the afternoon.

It was a day for both captain's would end up celebrating as the cups were won by Ray Crebo, the men's skipper, and his female counterpart Alison Jacka.

Crebo carded a round of 58 putting him one ahead of Giles Lawrence, while third place was achieved by Ronnie Barr, who took the position on countback from Andy Hurrell after both scored 60.

For Jacka, who also claimed the title by a single shot as her 61 just edged out Sue Harvey, with Jeanne Barker completing the top three with a score of 63.

Both the best visitor prizes went to players from Mullion with Andy Pengelly and Marilyn Jennings taking the titles.

A day later, the men went back on the course for the Willy Bromley Trophy with Fred Hayne winning the cup with his score of 58.

Phil Mosley came second with 59 while Ryan Semmens came third on countback with his 61.

Earlier in the week, Semmens partnered Sue Harvey to victory in the Sandum Salver Mixed Foursomes with their score of 37 points.

This weekend is the Air Ambulance Charity event, with the ladies playing on Saturday for the Leddra Cup and the men playing on Sunday for the Phillips Trophy.

Then on Monday there is the Treliske Trophy for all playing members.
