A NARROW defeat was suffered by Falmouth Golf Club's junior team in the County Summer Cup Final as West Cornwall edged the encounter 3-2, writes Keith Rashleigh.
The competition, also known as the Brian Gripe Junior Summer Knockout competition, is played off scratch over 36 holes against with the final taking place at Point of Polzeath.
It was the first time either club had made it to the final and despite having a better handicap, West Cornwall's team were given a real run for their money by Falmouth.
New juniors are always welcome at the club with junior organiser Bob Pine and his assistant Mick Fox helping the young players alongside club professional Nick Rogers.
