SAILOR Sam Goodchild and his co-skipper Eric Bellion have moved into seventh place with just over 1,000 nautical miles left of their IMOCA double-handed race from France to Brazil.
Sam, who grew up in Falmouth, managed to do really well in the doldrums around the equator - entering in ninth place and coming out 20 miles ahead of eighth.
Conditions permitting, the pair are expecting to arrive in Brazil in their 60-foot vessel on Friday.
