IF THIS weekend's weather forecast is to be believed, the nearest that sportsmen and women will be to a grassy field will be through their television screens.
After one of the wettest Novembers on record, which has already disrupted much of the football programme in the last four weeks, the next few days look worse than ever.
Following a band of wet weather predicted for Thursday, another bout of strong winds and heavy rain is scheduled to arrive in the early hours of Saturday and continue until Sunday lunchtime. Gusts are predicted at almost 70mph and XC Weather, the forecast often favoured by fishermen, states that 40mm of rain will fall from midnight on Friday until noon on Sunday.
